Cooper Miles Base is here!!!!!

Hi everybody,
Sorry this is a few days late, but I didn't have immediate access to the internet. Cooper Miles Base was born on October 27th at 1:16pm. He weighed 7lbs 1 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. He has lots of dark brown hair. He looks alot like his big sister Addison did as a baby. He finally received his name about 4 hours after he was born!!!! We are still in the hospital and not sure when we will be going home. Cooper's breathing was a little faster than they liked to see in newborns, so they ran some tests and did a chest xray and found an infection. The good news is that the infection is contamintable(SP) which means it is not in the blood. They took him to the nursery on Tuesday night and started him on antibiotics so he has not been allowed out of the nursery since. He will most likely be on those until tomorrow night, so we are hoping to go home Friday sometime. His vitals and temp are all good, so for now they are just keeping an eye on the cultures to make sure there is no more growth. They will also be doing another chest xray in the morning to check for more fluid on the lungs. One of the nurses in the nursery was telling me he is a fiesty little thing and has a set of lungs on him!!!! He also said he is quite a kicker which I have known for the last several months! Addison and Maddox are loving him. Maddox was very sad today when he couldn't see his brother. Monday when Addison saw him, she just kept wanting to hold him....she's quite the mother hen! Check in again soon as I will post pictures of the big man as soon as we are able to go home.

Thank God for tiny miracles, Nicole. Cooper surely is just that. Know that the whole Morris clan has been thinking of you and praying for you for the last few days, and I was thrilled to hear from Julie and others at school today that you are okay as well. I will keep Cooper and you in our thoughts, and I hope that virus is soon a distant memory. Congratulations from our family to yours, Nicole. I can't wait to meet him! Kirstan Morris
